Best family restaurants in Mossel Bay
3 min read
Family meals are always one of the highlights when it comes to a holiday and being able to have a meal together is an event that should be appreciated. Sometimes, however, cooking for the entire family is just too much effort! We’ve made a list of some of the best family friendly restaurants in Mossel Bay – you can head to one (or all) of these if you need a break from cooking, or if you simply want to treat your family.
Delfino’s Restaurant
Delfino’s has been a staple of Mossel Bay holiday culture for many years. They are open bright and early at 07:30 every morning and close late at 22:00. Whether you want breakfast, lunch, or dinner, Delfino’s is a great stop. Situated at the Point, this restaurant has a great view of the smaller tidal pool often visited by families. There is also a small park where the kids can play.
Kingfisher Seafood Restaurant
If you are looking to continue your meal, why not head up the stairs next to Delfino’s to Kingfisher? With the same benefits of looking over the paddling pool and green space, this restaurant is equally friendly for families. This location is perfect if you are after scrumptious seafood and sushi and a catch of the sea breeze.
Jackal on the Beach
The Jackal is situated right next to De Bakke Santos on Santos beach. If you take the last exit on the east side of the resort (the steps that lead directly to the beach) you’ll immediately find the restaurant. The Santos Pavilion has been around since 1916, although it had to be remodelled in the 1980s due to fire damage. The restaurant has a varied menu and is known for their craft beer and gin. Jackal is perfect for families as the kids can play on the beach while the adults can sip their drinks and relax.
The Sea Gypsy Café
Sea Gypsy is located on Quay 4 at the Mossel Bay Harbour and offers the freshest seafood. Not only does the restaurant offer amazing views of the bay and ocean, but it’s also situated near many of the water activities, like cruises, jet skis, speed boats, parasailing, and the famous Fat Boys Blob. There’s something for the whole family – whether you just want a good meal or if you want to get your blood pumping with adrenaline!
Blue Shed Coffee Roastery
Blue Shed is the perfect location for a cup of coffee and a sweet treat. The roastery looks out over the sea and has an eclectic garden and play area for the kids to explore. Old cars are scattered around the premises, as well as a few stunning murals. The inside is as wacky as the outside and the atmosphere is always great.
Jacks Bagels
If you are looking for practically anything on a bagel – eggs, bacon, cream cheese, steak, chicken, pastrami, biltong – head over to Jacks Bagels. This is a great brunch spot, with an extensive menu, including vegan options. The restaurant perfectly blends New York bagels with South African flavours.
