Exploring De Bakke Santos


De Bakke Santos has direct access to two beautiful Blue Flag beaches. Visitors can enjoy swimming, playing in rock pools and exploring the coastline. You can also go deep-sea fishing or spot whales and dolphins on a boat tour. Other fun activities include learning to surf, swimming in tidal pools or scuba diving around shipwrecks. If you’re a keen hiker, the St Blaize Trail runs all along the coast between Dana Bay and the Cape St Blaize Lighthouse.


A visit to the Bartolomeu Dias Museum Complex is an entertaining way to learn about Mossel Bay’s history. You’ll find out about the Post Tree from 1500, you can visit The Granary and Shell Museum, as well as wander around the Botanical Garden. If you feel like a challenge, climb to the top of Cape St Blaize Lighthouse, which was built in 1864, for stunning views of the ocean.



The Garden Route is famous the world over for its stunning golf courses. Locally in Mossel Bay, you can visit the 18-hole championship Pinnacle Point golf course with its breathtaking coastal views. Further afield, George has some top options, including world-famous Fancourt, Oubaai Golf Club and George Golf Club.


Diaz Express Train

Family members of all ages will have fun riding the Diaz Express Train. Explore the Garden Route surrounding Mossel Bay on this cute train that runs all along the coast. You’ll see beautiful ocean views and be surrounded by indigenous plants as you travel to various destinations on the route.
